Friday Feeling: Tarte ‘Homeslice’ Lip Paint Review

Tarte Matte Lip Paint in Homeslice

So, it’s the first Friday I haven’t been away from home or busy in a while and I decided it was finally time to review this beauty for you…

I’ve owned it for roughly 2 months and given it a thorough testing to avoid biased opinions (you know how much I love Tarte products)!

Having previously tested the Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in ‘OG’ and instantly falling in love with the gorgeous formula and purple-nude tone, I had a good feeling about this product.

Tarte Matte Lip Paint in Homeslice
While I must admit, the formula is slightly different to the lipstick I’ve just mentioned (and if I had to choose between the two, I’d go for the quick dry matte lip paint), this lipstick is almost as impressive – lasting anywhere between 4-5 hours, without the need for a reapplication (granted, you’re likely to have a missing patch in the centre of your lips).

Where the colour is concerned, ‘Homeslice’ is a rich orange-nude shade that perfectly flatters warm eye makeup and peachy cheeks.

I absolutely love colours like this on a pale complexion!

Have you got any different Tarte recommendations? Let me know in the comment space below!

Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow – Metallic Violet

Stila Foil Eyeshadow

I’ve expressed how much I love the Stila Cosmetics ‘Gilded Gold’ Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eyeshadow in the past, so you can safely assume that today’s review is going to be positive (I tend to love all Stila products!)

When I spotted the Metallic Lillac shade on the shelf a few months after buying/falling in love with the gold equivalent, I knew I had to buy it.

Stila Foil Eyeshadow
Besides the product being silky smooth once the primer and compacted shadow have been mixed – making the formulation super easy to apply, especially with a fine brush – the colour itself makes a bold statement.

Not only is this a gorgeous lilac shade, perfect for blending with vibrant purple and pink tones (the palette I used to the left was the Morphe 35P), it also has an unbelievably gorgeous sparkle to it.

The only way I can think to describe the finished appearance is ‘chromatic’ and that’s after a few sweeping applications.

So… overall, this Stila product receives another huge thumbs up from me!

I’d love to hear what you think of this makeup look in the comment space below…

Go-to Red – NYX Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Cream in Amsterdam

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Amsterdam

You guys know how much I love a classic red lip and recently, I’ve been obsessing over one product in particular – the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in ‘Amsterdam’.

Besides the gorgeous, bright red colour, the pigmentation is my favourite thing about this product.

With most liquid lipsticks, I find that too much formula sits on the sponge and therefore builds a ‘cakey’ layer… but not with this creamy liquid.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in AmsterdamThe NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream is extremely easy to apply and build-up, it doesn’t leave the lips dry or chapped, and stands the test of time – regardless of whether you layer up the centre of the lips with product throughout the day, they still always look nourished and end up feeling soft by the end of the day.

‘Amsterdam’ is the perfect classic red shade with a vibrant tint and I’m really eager to try the rest of the range out, I know there are plenty of different bold shades for me to put to the test.

And while the product itself is impressive enough, I think one of the most impressive factors is the incredible £6 price-tag.

It’s a fantastic high-street alternative to the likes of my Lime Crime and Tarte favourites.

Glycolic Skintreats from Pixi Beauty

Pixi Beauty Glow Mud Cleanser and Glow Tonic

You guys have been asking me to review the latest Pixi Beauty products since I announced our on-going collaboration… and I know I’ve neglected you a little!

The good news is, I’ve been long-term testing two different skincare ranges from the brand and will be reviewing one today.

I’m sure I’ve told you how much I love Glycolic Acid as part of my skincare routine on numerous occasions (normally turning to the Nip and Fab range), but lately I’ve been obsessing over this duo.

I know – I said duo, but there are three products in this photo?

Well, the Glow Tonic in the middle is simply a liquid form of the To-Go pads on the right, which have been infused with the tonic for convenience on-the-go!

Step 1 – Glow Mud Cleanser

One of the best things about the entire Pixi Beauty range is the fact that the products are both Paraben-free and cruelty-free.

In addition to this, these specific skintreats include a number of ingredients which are great for treating neglected skin, including 5% Glycolic Acid and Aloe Vera, a great soothing agent to combat the acidity.

Perhaps we wouldn’t usually associate a mud-like consistency with a cleanser, in fact, I think if this wasn’t labelled I’d naturally assume it was a mud mask.

The good news is, the muddy texture feels incredible when gently massaged into damp skin; I personally like to apply this to remove my makeup with a flannel (making sure to avoid the eye area!).

The scent is gorgeous and the product itself leaves the skin feeling intensely detoxed and extremely soft.

Step 2 – Glow Tonic or Glow Tonic To-Go

Renowned by beauty bloggers everywhere, the Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic has lived up to all of my expectations. Just like the cleanser, it includes 5% glycolic acid and brightens the skin by removing dead skin cells.

Honestly, my skin feels so soften and looks really glowy after applying this combination!

And if convenience is one of the most important factors of your skincare regime, the To-Go pads are ready-soaked with this product and come in a really compact pot for travelling!

Urban Decay Collaboration | All Nighter Setting Spray Review

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

Good evening dolls! I’m sorry I’ve been so inconsistent recently – I have so many new products to share and little time to review them for you… but I’m going to try my best to catch-up in the next few weeks!

Today, I wanted to tell you that I feel like the luckiest girl alive… and explain why.

A few weeks ago, the Urban Decay Cosmetics UK team got in touch to let me know that they would like to add me to their list of bloggers who receive NPD (the latest UD releases).

As you can imagine, I jumped at the chance, because this is quite literally one of my favourite makeup brands (if you hadn’t already guessed from the raving glitter liner/full spectrum palette reviews).

The first product the team has sent me to review is the face-lifted All Nighter Setting Spray – a renowned formula with a fresh, sophisticated design which has gained a first-class reputation among the beauty blogger/influencer community.

To provide you with some true, honest feedback, I wanted to try this product over a number of weeks and compare it against my usual (Gerard Cosmetics) setting spray and thankfully, it has lived up to my high-expectations.

Claims on the bottle state that this gentle mist (no, it won’t make your face feel drenched in liquid like other alternatives) stands the test of time, for precisely 16 hours.

Whilst I haven’t pushed this timeframe to the limits, I did give this a few spritz’ before a night-out the other day and I was extremely impressed with the results. No creasing along my usual problem areas and minimal ‘melted’ product on my face – it really lives up to it’s impactful claims.

Having worn a setting spray everyday since they were first introduced to me, I can’t imagine having to remove it from my makeup routine and would definitely recommend putting this product to the test.

The large bottle costs £23.50, which may sound quite steep, but is a sure investment due to the size of the product.

Tuesday Review: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in ‘Celebrated’

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Celebrated

Evening everyone. Today I’m going to be explaining why I’m totally obsessed with all things Tarte, including the Amazonian Clay Blush.

Before I tried their products I considered the brand to be reasonably pricey and ‘hyped up’, due to the fact that hardly any of their products are available in the UK (besides a few odd finds on QVC).

I thought that maybe this hype was built by prestigious blogger outreach, but I have fast fallen in love with just about every product they produce (lips, eyes, face and accessories, they’ve nailed it all)… and no, I’m not being bribed to write this glowing review.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in CelebratedFirst off, I told you why I loved the Matte Lip Paint and then I talked about the product of the moment… Shape Tape (which has, FYI, changed my life – exaggerations aside).

So, why do I love the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush?

Well, as the two photos I’ve attached demonstrate – it can be applied as gently or intensely as you like.

This particular shade – Celebrated – is a rich blend of pink and neutral tones, making it the perfect blusher and bronzer in one! It’s great that I can choose between intense, contoured looks (bottom) and lightly bronzed looks (above).

As a result of the two functionalities, I tend to contour with this product now and have ditched my everyday bronzer (when I say ditched, I mean transferred to my ‘less desirable’ makeup bag).

tarte amazonian clay blushAnd one thing is for sure… the blusher delivers flawless coverage thanks to the gorgeous pigmentation.

If I was to describe how it feels to apply this blusher, and I could only communicate it’s capabilities using three words, I would say that the formulation is: creamy, blendable and buildable…

PLUS, it’s extremely easy-to-apply (but that didn’t fit into the ‘one word’ category – so I cheated, my bad).

The good news is, because I love this blush so much, I’ve just purchased a much more vibrant shade of pink, which I can’t wait to try and review for you guys!

Hold tight

Iridescent Makeup: Inglot Lipstick and CND World Nail Varnish 💕

I LOVE anything chromatic, iridescent or sparkly… so naturally, I decided to test these two gorgeous products at the same time!

I’m so grateful that the Inglot UK team decided to send me this Inglot Diamond Lip Tint Liquid Lipstick in ‘102’, along with a few nail varnishes which I’m yet to review!

At first, I thought the lipstick would be like every other reflective, metallic lipstick I have tried in the past – extremely drying and never as impactful as you’d imagine.

I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised…

The formulation dried matte but DIDN’T dry my lips – in fact they felt extremely nourished by the end of the day.

The all over colour is a vibrant pink and the sheeny areas have a light purple tint to them… you really have to see the lipstick in person to get the full effect!

Anyway, it’s fair to say that I’m really impressed by the long-lasting power and colour pay-off, meaning I might have to get a few different colours to try (there are an additional 9 shades to choose from)!

Where the nails are concerned, I am wearing the beautiful CNC World Weekly Polish in Magenta Mischief.

For the record, this colour is beyond beautiful and the polishes are fairly expensive, so have become accredited for standing the test of time.

However, I am the exception…

For some reason, whenever I apply nail varnish (even if I leave it to dry for hours and apply thin layers) it chips the next day… I have the the worst luck. If you guys have any tips, I’d love to hear them!

Regardless, I’m obsessed with my nails and keep turning them towards the light and seeing different tones of pink and purple… sooo pretty!

P.S. Guys, I’m so close to 1,500 followers… you’re the best!

Monday Favourite: NYX Cosmetics White Liquid Liner

NYX White Liner

Lately, I’ve been obsessing over the NYX white eyeliner… and I just wanted to show you all that there are so many different ways to use this one product!

While it’s always a little tricky to apply NYX liners without experiencing ‘cracking’, I do find that when I apply fast and precisely the first time, this happens less – so it all does come down to practising!

The bonus is, it only costs £5.50… what a bargain!

NYX Daisy EyelinerHere’s a little daisy eyeliner look I created using a combination of this white liner and the NYX Vivid Brights Lemon Liner, which was inspired by an incredible makeup artist called Aaisha. You can check out her work here – @makeupvanityxo.

As a stark contrast, for this alien-esque makeup look, I used the white eyeliner to transform my brows and lashes.

If you don’t have white mascara at hand, all you have to do is gently hold and swipe the liner brush along the hair so it clings, rather than pressing heavily and creating too harsh a look.

Would a tutorial help? I actually filmed one which I’ve been planning to upload for ages, so let me know!

And besides the obvious choice of wearing the white eyeliner on it’s own with a vibrant, popping eyeshadow (as I have done numerous times), I’m a HUGE fan of applying a coat of this liner and layering the Urban Decay Cosmetics Glitter Liner in Distortion on top…

(You can read a review on this glitter – one of my favourite products – here)

NYX White EyelinerAnyway, the result of combining these two products is a gorgeous glittery wing…

… and who doesn’t love that?

I’d love to hear what you think of these makeup looks in the comment space below! Plus, if there any products you would like me to try or makeup looks you would like to see, please let me know, as I’m always looking for new inspiration!

Stay tuned for more makeup and skincare reviews. I have hundreds of new products left to test and review… plus a big announcement on the way!

It’s never too early to use anti-ageing products…

Super Facialist Retinol Anti-Ageing Serum

Okay, so I know a lot of you are going to think it’s mad that a 23 year old is using anti-ageing products, but it’s so important to treat your skin right from a young age!

One of my favourite products to reduce the signs of ageing is the Super Facialist Retinol Restoring Serum.

Available from Boots UK (along with the rest of the range), this product has been designed to reduce wrinkles, adjust uneven complexions and add radiance to dull skin.

A combination of Retinol, Hyaluronic Acid, a patented Collagen Boosting Active and Vitamin E help to add firmness to tired skin – all ingredients which are renowned for halting the signs of ageing… without the need for dramatic facial surgery!

I personally like to apply this in the evening after cleansing my face, instead of a moisturiser, but the instructions do state that this can also be applied during the daytime… you’re just going to need to apply some SPF while you’re there.

The tube itself is quite small, but when you consider the price-tag (£16.99) and the amount of product you’re going to need to apply (pump a pea sized amount onto your finger tips and massage into the skin), this really can’t be grumbled about!

It also includes a selection of antioxidants, including Apricot and White Tea, which could be the distinct smell which I can’t quite distinguish… I’ll have a think and let you guys know if I figure that one out!

If you guys would like to hear more of my skincare favourites, please let me know in the comment space below…
I have a selection of skin products which I’ve been desperate to test and review for you all!
