When you read the caption ‘most hyped liquid eyeshadow’ your mind probably immediately turned to the Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows… and that assumption would be correct!
If you’ve been living under a rock, these cute little sparkly tubes have gained a huge reputation within the beauty community for their long-lasting capabilities, vibrancy, pigmentation and how easy they are to apply – they’re literally the ultimate eye product for beginners!
What shade did I try?
When I looked at the stand with all the shades (granted, I had to stop myself from buying them all), the shade ‘Enchantress’ (one of the newest additions to the line-up) really stood out to me.
It comes as no surprise that I opted for the sparkliest, peach-tone shade with a golden fleck. I couldn’t resist adding this sparkly dream to my everyday grungy eye look (I’ll try to be less predictable in the future, sorry guys!)
How does it compare to the Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eyeshadows?
There really is little comparison. I used to love the foil finish shadows, but grew to dislike them as the product transfers around the eye due to the extremely wet formulation.
In contrast, these glitter shadows are much thicker, apply to the lid smoother and just don’t budge during the application process!
What about the applicator?
Rather than having to go in with a concealer or eyeshadow primer to cut a half cut crease for this look, I actually just used the dofa applicator to carve this out straight away – the good news is, it’s so pigmented that it covers any traces of shadow below and POPS like no liquid shadow I’ve seen before!
The only one downfall I noticed was that by the end of the day the formulation looked a TINY bit tacky on my lid and had shifted a bit, but in all honesty, that day I applied it and sat outside in the blazing sun for HOURS, so I don’t think that’s a true reflection on the product!
As with all Stila products, this is a little pricey – £23 to be precise. For the extreme quality of the product and how much is included within a tube, I really do recommend making the investment!
The only downfall in doing so is that, if like me, you like to play with your makeup and create different looks all the time, you’ll probably have to accept the fact that you might not use this THAT many times before it’s past it’s use by date.
Still… one flawless eye look justifies £23… right?!
