7 reasons to try the Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF 50+
It’s safe to say that since working in the skincare industry, I’ve purchased my fair share of skincare products, including moisturisers. Up until now, I’d never really found the ultimate day cream for my skin type – until I stumbled upon this multi-purpose moisturiser from Alpha-H.
1. It’s non-comedogenic and oil-free
What does this mean? It means the formulation has been expertly developed to ensure that the pores don’t become clogged, making it an excellent choice for oily and combination skin types prone to blemishes. I’ve definitely noticed the different in removing an oil-based moisturiser from my regime, as I struggle with combination skin.
2. It includes SPF 50+
The intense UVA/B protection is due to the brand’s Australian roots, meaning that a combination of high-performance, broad spectrum protections have been combined to comply with foreign SPF laws.
While the UK barely hits 25 degrees throughout the summer, I’m all for slapping on the high SPF to avoid the premature signs of ageing… anything to combat the wrinkle appearing between my brows (note to self: must stop frowning and apply more retinol).
3. The formulation is also water resistant
In fact, the brand claims that this SPF can last for 4 hours in peak heat and withstand daily sweat, making it an excellent choice for those who exercise when exposed to the outdoors (funnily enough, I tick neither of these boxes).
4. And it’s extremely absorbent
You know some moisturisers just sit on the skin and don’t seem to ever sink into the pores? The great thing about the Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturiser is that, once massaged into the skin and left for five minutes, it’s barely visible. For this reason, I think this is the ultimate choice for pre-makeup application – it blends seamlessly with primer, especially silicone-based ones!
5. It’s hypoallergenic
Which means that this moisturiser is considered to be a low irritant and is unlikely to cause a reaction, making it an ideal choice for more sensitive skin types. Unlike the rest of the Alpha-H collection, it doesn’t include intense (high-performance) acid-based ingredients, however, it does incorporate ingredients like Aloe Vera and Cera Alba to intensely hydrate (apologies to any vegans reading, this isn’t one for you).
6. It’s also fragrance-free and alcohol-free
And did I forget to mention… vegetarian friendly?
7. But that doesn’t mean it won’t tackle skin issues…
This dual-purpose Alpha-H Moisturiser has been developed to not only protect the skin from the heat, but also defend against the signs of ageing (including wrinkles), nourish (thanks to the inclusion of antioxidants), and save collagen.
