Okay, so you all know that I like to mix things up…
…which is why when I spotted this Mac Powder Blush in the shade ‘News Flash!’ my first thoughts weren’t to create a popping blush, I just wanted to create a vibrant red eye look!
Inspired by one of my favourite makeup artist’s ‘half moon’ look (which I spotted on Instagram last night), I mixed a combination of Mac Red Brick and News Flash! along the crease.
Then, I applied concealer with a fine brush (review to follow soon!) in an arching shape, to over exaggerate the natural edge of my eyelid, filling the concealed area with the shade ‘Highlite’ from the Urban Decay Naked Smokey palette.
I was actually chuffed with the final outcome and although I was initially scared that this would apply lightly (and create a patchy appearance) due to the blush nature of the product, it exceeded all of my expectations – providing an even coverage of blended colour when applied using circular motions and my favourite Mac 217 eyeshadow brush.
Next time I use the Mac News Flash! Blush, I intend to apply it along the lid and blend out the edges with lighter colours for a softer but equally as impactful eye look, but for now – this statement look will do!
