Is the Smashbox Primer Set worth the £26 price-tag?

I very recently purchased the Smashbox Primer Set from Boots for £26, which is worth more than £30 at retail price. The Photo Finish Primer alone costs a few pounds less than the set, so it’s safe to say that this is an absolute investment.

I’ve instantly replaced my Nivea for Men Post Shave Balm with the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. It feels nourishing, lightweight and leaves the skin slightly damp, but not in the usual ‘face melting’ way. It somehow manages to completely blur the skin when makeup is applied on top, smoothing out any inconsistencies, without lifting the makeup after a few hours of application (I found that the Mac Primer had this effect on my skin, lifting very quickly).

In all honestly, I can’t say too much about the Smashbox Primer Water because I’ve always applied it alongside the Primer itself, so it’s difficult to note which product makes what impact upon the skin. However, I’m happy to say that the water does leave the skin feeling refreshed and adds an uplifting, softening effect to the face.

So scrap the filters and the airbrushing – this set will definitely prep your skin for the perfect selfie and long working days. But grab it while you can, as stock at your local Boots store will undoubtedly be in demand this Christmas!
