Prime, conceal and layer with the Smashbox 20 double-ended smudger

Makeup Revolution and Morphe

I’m going to let you guys in on a tip, which I’m sure most of you will already be aware of.

It recently came to my attention that all of my favourite MUAs were able to create a hugely impactful lid colour, using the same products as me, when I’d achieve half of the results. Why?

Until recently, I would blend the crease shade and then continue to apply shadow to the lid, missing one important step – a precise application of concealer to the lid prior to applying the lid colour. A vital step which helps to create a strong crease and emphasise the pigmentation of the colour you are applying to the lid.

Which concealer did I use?

My trusty Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in ‘Chantilly’, of course.

Which brush did I use to apply the layer of concealer and then delicately apply the eyeshadow on top?

My latest makeup brush – the Smashbox 20 double-ended smudger, is a true investment. Beside stiff bristles for a solid, flawless application, this brush also has a smuding end, which is ideal for applying a gentle glisten to the corner of the eye, as well as… you guessed it, smudging! It’s absolutely worth every penny of the slightly steep price-tag.
